What are the EmpaSys™ Walk-In Money Solutions?
The EmpaSys™ Walk-In Money Solutions are web-based services that allow payments to be made at an EmpaSys™ payment agent's location. They include: Walk-In Bill Payments, Pre-paid Debit Card Cash Loading, and International Money Transfer.
 
How do the EmpaSys™ solutions work?
The EmpaSys™ payment agent location is a member of a national network of participating merchants. These merchant locations accept cash payments to pay those customer's bills, load cash onto those customer's pre-paid debit cards, or send money internationally thereby saving the customer time and money. By being a member of the network, a customer’s payment taken at any EmpaSys’ payment agent location is delivered safely and quickly!
 
How much does the service cost?
Most payment agent locations will charge a nominal transaction fee for handling these payments or transfers for customers.
 
Which bill payment billers can customers pay?
There are tens of thousands of billers that are participants in our network. The chances are great that the businesses that customers send their bill payments to are members of this network. Nevertheless, this system will pay ANY bill for ANY qualified biller.
 
How quickly will a customer’s payment arrive at its destination?
This is a three-part answer. a.) For walk-in bill payments utilizing the EmpaSys™ electronic payment process, in most cases the payment will arrive within two banking days if the biller is a participant in our network. If the biller is NOT a participant, the payment may take up to 5 business days to arrive. b.) For Pre-paid debit card cash loads utilizing the EmpaSys™ network, immediate payment posting to the card is accomplished. c.) Also, for International Money Transfers utilizing the EmpaSys™ network, same day pick-up by the recipient is available.
 
What is the cut-off time for accepting payments each day?
EmpaSys™ daily processing occurs at 2:00pm Central each business/banking day. Transactions that are posted after that time each day will be processed on the following business day. Any transactions that are posted after 2:00pm Central on Friday will be processed at 2:00pm Central on Monday. Processing does not occur on federal holidays, therefore, processing for transactions accepted on a holiday will be processed the following business day.
 
What if a bill payment biller is not a participant in the network?
If the biller that a customer wants to pay is not a participant in the EmpaSys™ network, the payment will not arrive as fast as it would if they were a participating biller. Instead of being sent as an electronic payment, a paper money order will be printed and sent to the biller through the mail on the customer's behalf. EmpaSys™ will make every effort to ensure that the biller receives the customer's payment as soon as possible. Note: Payment posting times vary for each biller.
 
Why can't I load cash onto my pre-paid debit card?
Unfortunately, not every pre-paid debit card program is a participant in the EmpaSys™ network. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you would like to load your card at an EmpaSys™ payment agent location, please call the number on the back of your card and tell them to contact us toll-free at 866-367-2797 so that we can set their card up in the system.
